Maggie married Fred too quickly. Fred is a nice guy. On the outside, he seems manly. In bed with his wife, Fred is a wimp.

Pointing out her pathetic husband became a ritual. He was put on display to the sequence of lovers she brought home. Some showed open contempt for a man who let his wife treat him like a sideshow freak.
